Quick status
Controller is playable; full support is still TBDNC’s official Steam FAQ says the Global PC client is playable with a controller, while the team is still evaluating whether full controller support is in scope for launch.
AION 2 controller support
The safest wording before launch is: gamepad play is possible, but full controller support is not yet promised. That leaves open details such as complete menu navigation, controller glyph coverage, remapping and edge-case UI screens.
Steam Deck status
No official Steam Deck compatibility rating yetThe current Global materials do not announce Steam Deck support or publish a Verified/Playable rating. A Windows-PC requirement cannot be converted into a Deck guarantee. The Launch Scale Test is the first useful window for real compatibility reports.
Linux status
No official Linux launch support announcedThe official Global requirements list Windows 10/11. There is no current official Linux/Proton support promise. Anti-cheat and launcher behavior should be tested against the Global client rather than inferred from unrelated Unreal Engine games.
Console and mobile
Global is currently being developed exclusively for PC platforms. No PS5/Xbox Global launch has been announced, and the Global FAQ explicitly says the current Global version is PC-only rather than mobile.
What to test during the Launch Scale Test
- Whether every combat action can be mapped comfortably.
- Inventory, map and party UI navigation without a mouse.
- Controller prompts and disconnect/reconnect behavior.
- Steam Input behavior and, if attempted, Deck/Proton launch compatibility.
