Is AION 2 Global free to play?
Kina and Quna
| Currency | Role in the announced Global model |
|---|---|
| Kina | Earned through gameplay; used in the player Market and other in-game spending. |
| Quna | Premium currency; used for shop purchases and Daeva Pass, and participates in the player-driven Kina↔Quna Exchange. |
The Exchange connects players: NC’s announced model describes players listing Kina and other players using Quna to acquire it, rather than the game itself creating the trade listing.
Market and Exchange require Membership
The official business-model plan says an active Membership is required to trade on both the Market and the Kina↔Quna Exchange. The plan lists Membership at $15/month, and every current Founder’s Pack includes 30 days.
In-game shop
NC separates announced shop goods into cosmetics and consumables. It describes outfits, wings, pets, weapon skins and accessories as aesthetic, and says consumables such as potions/resurrection items do not affect long-term gear progression and can also be earned through regular gameplay. The live catalog still needs launch-day verification.
Daeva Pass / Battle Pass
The announced model has a free Standard Track and a Quna-priced Premium Track per character. NC’s wording allows cosmetics, items, upgrade materials and in-game currencies in pass rewards, so calling the Premium Track “cosmetics only” would overstate the official promise.
So is AION 2 Global pay to win?
What the Launch Scale Test cannot prove
The LST disables purchases, Shop, Quna, passes, Membership, Marketplace, Quna Exchange and player-to-player trading. It is therefore useful for combat/performance testing but cannot validate the live monetization economy.
